Immerse yourself in a 360-degree portrait of one of the West Coast’s most important practitioners of conceptual and installation art.


Wednesday – Friday
11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Tours are approximately 60 minutes and led by trained Artist Guides from the Bay Area’s thriving art, performance and music community.

Advance booking is encouraged.

Drop-In visitors may come by 15 minutes prior to these times to check on last minute tour availability.

Admission is $20 general ($15 for students and seniors).

Please note that tour admission is non-refundable, but may be exchanged for another tour based on availability. Exchanges must be made no later than 24 hours prior to your originally purchased tour.

Every Saturday from Noon – 5 p.m.

We are now making The David Ireland House at 500 Capp Street available for self-guided tours.

Experience 500 Capp Street at your own pace. Artist Guides are on hand to enhance your experience and answer questions.

Advance purchase is recommended but walk-ins are welcome.

$12.50 for general admission ($10 for students and seniors)

The Garage is open free to the public on Saturdays, 12 – 5 p.m. during exhibitions. Tours of the House not included.

Located on the corner of 20th and Capp Street in the heart of the Mission District and a short walk from 16th or 24th Street BART stations or Mission 14 muni bus line.


Street parking is very limited. There are also a few parking structures nearby:

Mission Bartlett Garage, 3255 21st Street
16th and Hoff Garage, 42 Hoff Street

Enter on 20th Street. Doors open 15 minutes prior to scheduled tour times and begin promptly on time.

An elevator is available for visitors who cannot take the stairs. A wheelchair-accessible entrance is located adjacent to the main entrance on 20th Street.
