This 4th of July marks the 50th anniversary of when radical art and architecture collective Ant Farm drove a customized 1959 Cadillac Eldorado through a pyramid of burning TV sets in the Cow Palace parking lot. The infamous performance and subsequent video work shone a lit a fire on mainstream media’s tightening grip on the public, a fire that still burns on today.
Join us at 500 Capp Street to commemorate this anniversary with the opening of an archival exhibition curated by Steve Seid in collaboration with Ant Farm artists.
