What decomposes, fertilizes.
Return 回 is a prayer on transformation. Honoring cycles of change, generating, growing, dying, decaying + renewal. It honors + grieves what must die inside of ourselves + collectively to fertilize what may grow.
Through the duration of this installation, visitors are invited to bring offerings to the community altar with consideration of the following questions:
What grounds you?
What must you release from your grips?
What are you still learning?
What are you attached to?
How might your attachment to your safety + comfort put others in danger?
How will you release comfort to redistribute safety?
How will we show up for each other materially? Out of duty, rather than as savior?
* Accessibility note about August 8th activation*There will be lit sandalwood incense at the activation on August 8th. We plan to open windows upstairs for ventilation. But we recommend planning your visit on an alternative day if you are sensitive to smoke or scents. Please reach out with any further questions at visit@500cappst.org
