Gui Veloso
Communications and Community Partnerships

Gui Veloso is a curator and organizer from Rio de Janeiro, with a BA in Foreign Affairs from the Universidade Federal Fluminense and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of San Francisco. In 2024, Veloso founded The Accordion Shop—a hybrid concept store and gallery housed within the David Ireland House—honoring a lineage of singular making that runs from Swiss accordion maker Paul Greub to artist David Ireland himself. Operating under the 500 Capp Street Foundation, the accordion shop has brought Veloso into collaboration with artists including Patrick Carroll, Mildred Howard, Rico Duenas, Yiliu Teng, and Lucy Liu, with a presence at art fairs such as FOG and the San Francisco Art Fair. Veloso heads Communications and Community Partnerships at 500 Capp Street, where they have curated programming with Guillermo Gomez Peña, Marcel Pardo Ariza, Selby Sohn, Trina Michelle Robinson, Catherine Wagner, Minoosh Zomorodinia, Annie Albagli, Ant Farm, Mildred Howard, and yétúndé ọlágbajú. He serves on the board of Salmon Creek Farms.
