Architectural and Sculptural Interventions

David Ireland’s pieces and work expands beyond the use of construction material and domestic objects to include his architectural and sculptural interventions. These interventions involve direct collaboration with fellow artists such as Jock Reynolds, Henry Moss and curators such as Ned Rifkin. Ireland’s interventions highlight his need to change and expand on spaces through experimental architecture: playing with the size of domestic objects he deems micro-architecture to control spaces, adding external elements such as windows to internal walls and shapes, and creating a space of unease for the participant where there is traditionally comfort.
