The Foundation and members ofour team have started 2015 with a sense of excitement as we prepare to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of David Ireland purchasing 500 Capp Street and the count down to its reopening to the public is underway.
When David purchased the property, he did not know that the house would become whatit is today. It is now a place where history and aesthetic combine to create such a unique aura that you cannot help but make a connection to the work.While excavation continues for several more weeks, the administrative office isworking furiously to finalize the exciting programming we have been hinting atvia our blog over the past six months. It is a big undertaking, as we aimto provide a framework that highlights the rich history of the house, and allows visitors to experience the home’s distinctive aesthetic that DavidIreland’s intervention on the property brought to the forefront. We look forward to sharing more details as we move forward with our own programming, as well as exciting collaborations with other Bay Area organizations.
